A Secretary of State appointment to the Board of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and an expert for the Commission for Sustainable Development 2012. A Past President of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture, Past Chair, now Vice President, of the Institution of Environmental Science. Currently a board member of the Science Council, Perennial and the Picton Trust, Assistant to the Court of the Worshipful Company of Gardeners and President of Growing Point.
